6. Check out the Greenleaf/Jacob Clock

Greenleaf/Jacobs Clock is beautiful old clock on the corner of N Laura St and Adams St. Originally it was build in 1901, however, it was destroyed in bus accident in 1974. The most amazing fact that this clock was glued from thousands of small pieces together.

Actionable Item:
Check out the clock as you walk to the park square.

7. Walk through James Weldon Johnson Park (the old Hemming Park)

James Weldon Johnson Park is just a block up from the clock. This park frequently has many events going on. Don’t be surprised if you catch a live musical performance, open market, or see someone dancing in the streets.

Actionable Item:
Consider taking a break at a shady spot in Jacksonville’s oldest park.

8. Buy Some Homemade Candy at Sweet Pete’s Candy

Sweet Pete’s Candy is a gem of a place in Jacksonville. It’s like we have our very own Willie Wonky candy factory. Almost everything is made in-house besides the classic candy brands that are sold upstairs. We love their homemade salted caramels. The decor and homemade candy will not disappoint.

Actionable Item:
Head over to Sweet Petes to check out their treats and fun decor.

That is all for now!

We hope this Explore Idea gives you inspiration on how to explore the city of Jacksonville.

Until next time, stay well!
