Explore Jacksonville Story

On a hot May day in 2019, I explored the city of Jax with a friend. The new city murals were the draw of the day, and we decided to post a few mural pictures to his abandoned Explore Jacksonville Instagram just for the fun of it.

My friend posted one or two more posts after our adventure but then got to be too busy.  Meanwhile, I was intrigued and kept the project going. Since he had no plans or time for it, I soon took over the Explore Jacksonville Instagram and decided to bring it back to social media life.

My approach was to post whatever I found interesting and intriguing. I wanted the posts to all mean something. I wanted to showcase the not-so-popular places around the city.

Best of all, I was free to post anything and everything I wanted to, which was a privilege and so much fun. The creative freedom, drive for quality content, and consistent posting is what garnered attention and allowed me to organically build a solid following of 18k followers within 20 months.

Today, we still operate with the same goal; creative freedom and doing our best to provide genuine, high-quality content that inspires and helps the community as a whole.

Now, more than ever, it’s our goal to get involved with and promote small businesses. Because at the end of the day, we are a small business too — independently owned and proud, like all of you.

What makes the city of Jacksonville unique is how within 30 minutes from anywhere you live, there’s a new area that feels nothing like your own neighborhood. From the beaches to Springfield or Murray Hill, and from San Jose to Northside, you will experience a different vibe wherever you roam… Jacksonville truly has so much to explore.

Besides just neighborhoods, it’s also the people, variety of cultures, art, history, landscapes, and waterways that truly shape the city and make it special.

I believe that no matter where you live, if you make the best of it and open yourself up to new possibilities, you will come away experiencing a totally different town than you initially expected.

It is my hope that you have the best time while you’re living in or simply visiting the new bold city of the south. And I hope we can be a part of it.

Stay curious, and never stop exploring.
