MOCA Watercolor Flow: A Mixed-Level Workshop with Teresa Cook
Join Jacksonville artist and educator Teresa Cook in MOCA's 5th floor studio for monthly watercolor workshops.
Join local watercolor artist Teresa Cook for a refreshing semimonthly workshop designed to inspire both beginner and intermediate artists. Whether you’re just discovering the magic of watercolor or looking to refine your skills, this 3-hour immersive session will guide you through core techniques, creative exercises, and a themed painting project each month.
Beginners will focus on foundational watercolor methods like color mixing, brush control, and layering, while intermediate students will explore advanced concepts such as composition, contrast, and personal expression. Teresa provides individualized guidance to meet each artist at their level, making this a perfect setting to learn, grow, and build community through watercolor.
A limited supply of basic materials will be available but students should plan to bring their own supplies.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Teresa Cook was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She obtained a bachelor's in fine arts from the University of North Florida in 2012. Over the last ten years, she has been traveling to different countries as well as around her home city.
Cook is an abstract architectural watercolor artist and has been painting watercolor since 2012. Creating mini watercolor abstractions, she has always found pleasure in the landscapes and buildings that have been created over time. Each of her watercolor and ink paintings are created on a smooth paper called “Yupo” and are meant to capture a moment in time without the interruption of people.
